Reality Check

Here's what the Bible says about that:
  • In Romans 3:23 it says, "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." Does that include you?
  • In Romans 6:23 we read, "For the wages of sin is death"
Did you notice that it said "sin" and not "sins" . . . one sin could send us to hell!
  • In John 3:3, here is what follows, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of heaven unless they are born again." You either are or you aren't.
  • In John 14:6, Jesus says, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Do you see any other way?
  • Romans 10:9 - 11 is the following declaration,"if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the scripture says, 'Anyone that trusts in Him will never be put to shame.'"
    Does this include you?
  • I John 5:11-12 helps us understand where to find this fuller, more complete life, "And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in the Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life."
    Note the relationship.
  • Revelation 3:20 "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me."
  • With the information you have just read are the following statements true Are you a sinner? Do you want forgiveness of sins? Do you believe Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose again? Are you willing to surrender your life to Jesus Christ? Are you ready to invite Jesus Christ into your life and into your heart? Now I'd like you to simply pray this prayer right now in front of your computer Dear Jesus, I am a sinner. And I do want forgiveness for sins. I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for me and rose again. I am willing to surrender my life to Jesus Christ and I'm ready to invite Jesus into my life and into my heart. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen You have just made the most important decision of your life, We want to make the journey you take from this point a little easier for you, so if you could get us the following information, we will contact you with some encouraging words.
Everyone who replied had a great reply. The work gospel can have different meanings in different settings. A gospel can be any proclamation of good news. It can also be used in a musical context thus referring to the singer or singers proclaiming good news. In our context however, it is the gospel of Jesus. I have taken some exerts from the Bible Study book Engage to further explain the definition.

Paul said the gospel was the power of God for salvation, the only means by which we can have peace with God. Look at Romans 1:16

The message concerning Christ, the kingdom of God, and salvation.

The gospel of Jesus is the announcement that Jesus is Lord and has won a great victory on our behalf.

The gospel is bad news before it is good news: Our sin had left us under a curse, death.

The gospel is the news that Christ has suffered the full wrath of God for my sin.

The gospel is a gift, and like any other gift, it must be received.

So now I would like to end with another question. In what ways do you feel you have to prove yourself to God?
