Our MissionThe mission of the BSU at Crowder College is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ on campus, in town, and in the world, and to assist the local church in training, discipling, and encouraging believers in Jesus Christ, so that they may fulfill the Great Commission and seek God's will in every area of their lives.
How Do We Do That? The BSU is an extension of the local church, not a replacement. We partner with the local church in evangelism and discipleship, specifically, on the college campus. Our goal is to raise up new believers in Christ, disciple current believers in Christ, and direct them back to the local church both during and after their time with us.
We also acknowledge that the BSU is a unique and special ministry. We get to minister and build relationships with one specific group of people - college students. As such, our outreach, Bible studies, mission trips, and generally all that we do is focused on our students. Our Bible study's cover topics such as the Great Commission (sharing the gospel on campus), and practical Christian living. We go on trips, such as our trip to the DEFEND Conference at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, to build up our student's faith. We go on mission trips, such as the trip to Utah, to fulfill the Great Commission. We eat pizza, hangout, go bowling, play ping pong and pickleball, because we love to fellowship with our students, and those are the kinds of things that our students love. Our vision is to meet the spiritual needs of every student, and to serve, train, and help them based on their needs. We accomplish this by forming genuine relationships and building a welcoming community that seeks the best for every one of its members. We encourage all students, no matter where they are at in their faith journey, to join our community. |
